Ahmed Akhubar is a seasoned professional with a distinguished career spanning engineering, project management, and public service. With a solid foundation in technical expertise and leadership, he has overseen and delivered numerous large-scale projects, balancing innovation with practical solutions. His experience in both public and private sectors gives him deep insight into governance, policy, and infrastructure development. Ahmed is also a shareholder of Heavy Work Maldives Pvt. Ltd., reflecting his entrepreneurial drive and commitment to the Maldivian private sector.

Abdul Mueed Abdulla Director, Business Development

Founder and majority shareholder of UMET Group, Abdul Mueed Abdulla has built diverse enterprises in construction, hospitality, insurance, and tourism. With a Master’s in Business Administration from Asia University Malaysia, his entrepreneurial vision transformed UMET from a small start-up into a multimillion-rufiyaa enterprise in less than a decade. Mueed’s ability to identify opportunities, diversify strategically, and build high-performing teams has been the driving force behind UMET’s success and is a cornerstone of MCEC’s strategic direction.

Songmit is the Financial Controller at MCEC, where she provides strategic financial leadership and supports the company’s long-term business objectives. With a strong background spanning finance, sales and marketing, and business development, she brings a well-rounded commercial perspective to the organization. Songmit works closely with senior management to strengthen financial governance, support informed decision-making, and align financial strategy with operational growth. Her cross-functional experience and leadership mindset contribute significantly to MCEC’s continued stability and expansion.

Mohamed Nadeem graduated with a BBA from the University of Madras. Starting his career in sales with Sharp, he joined UMET in 2009, bringing strong skills in human resource management and administration. Known for his persuasive skills, enthusiasm, and insight into market dynamics, Nadeem plays a key role in building and managing MCEC’s human capital and organizational culture.
